Changes basic health insurance

Combined lifestyle intervention

A combined lifestyle intervention (CLI) is a programme for overweight people, primarily adults. This programme consists of advice and support in adopting a healthier diet and eating habits, getting more exercise and achieving behavioural change. Your general practitioner (or your medical specialist) will be able to refer you to a combined lifestyle intervention provider. You will then get a referral to a lifestyle coach, physiotherapist or remedial therapist, or dietitian.

What will change?

From 2019, the combined lifestyle intervention will be covered by the basic health-care plan and will not be subject to the excess. If any other health care is needed alongside the combined lifestyle intervention and the general practitioner gives you a referral for it, that additional health care will be subject to the excess.
