Maximum reimbursements have changed
ONVZ Bewuste Keuze lets you choose which health-care provider you want to visit and which hospital you want to be treated at. If you visit a non-contracted health-care provider, maximum reimbursements will apply. We change these every year. You can find the new maximum reimbursements at onvz.nl/maximale-vergoedingen. Using our Zorgzoeker search tool, you can see whether a health-care provider has a contract with us.

Changes to recognised professional organisations for alternative/non-conventional health care
Our ONVZ Bewuste Keuze Alternatief module covers alternative/non-conventional health care if the practitioner is a member of a professional organisation recognised by us. As of 1 January 2026, the following seven professional organisations will no longer be recognised:
- NVO: Nederlandse Vereniging Osteopathie [Dutch Association of Osteopathy]
- BETTEL: Beroepsvereniging Trainers & Therapeuten Emotioneel Lichaamswerk [Dutch Professional Association of Emotional Body Work Trainers & Therapists]
- NVRT: Nederlandse Vereniging van Regressie- en Reïncarnatietherapeuten [Dutch Association of Regression and Reincarnation Therapists]
- NVCAG: Nederlandse Vereniging voor Chirofonetiektherapie op Antroposofische Grondslag [Dutch Association for Chirophonetic Therapy on an Anthroposophic Basis]
- NVDA: Nederlandse Vereniging van Diëtisten werkzaam vanuit de Antroposofie [Dutch Association of Dietitians Working on an Anthroposophic Basis]
- BVZB: Beroepsvereniging van Zijnsgeoriënteerde Begeleiders [Dutch Professional Association of ‘Being-oriented’ Counsellors]
- Holos: Beroepsorganisatie voor holistische massagetherapie [Dutch Professional Organisation for Holistic Massage Therapy]
If you’d like to know whether your practitioner is still a member of a recognised professional organisation, you can ask your practitioner about their membership and check the ‘Erkende beroepsorganisaties 2026‘ [2026 recognised professional organisations] overview on our website.

No reimbursement after consuming alcohol or taking drugs or narcotics

-
Changes to reimbursement for antenatal/post-natal care
As of 1 January 2026, the reimbursement for maternity care and births in an outpatient clinic will be changed in ONVZ Bewuste Keuze Extra. The reimbursement will be 50% of the personal contribution for your maternity care or birth in an outpatient clinic up to a maximum of €125 per pregnancy.

New quality requirements for skin therapists
The ONVZ Bewuste Keuze basic health-care plan and supplementary health-care plans reimburse oedema or scar therapy by a skin therapist. As of 1 January 2026, the skin therapist must be quality registered in the Kwaliteitsregister Paramedici (Quality Register for Allied Health Professionals). To give health-care providers enough time to complete their registration, we will also still reimburse treatments in 2026 if the skin therapist is registered with the NVH. We will stop doing this in 2027.
