Find the best hospital for you with the Zorgzoeker
The Zorgzoeker helps you find the best health-care provider for your care needs and treatments. You can search for a hospital, independent health-care centre, medical specialist or other healthcare provider within a certain distance from your home. You can also search for a specific illness or condition.
How to use the Zorgzoeker?
Simply indicate whether you have an ONVZ Vrije Keuze or ONVZ Bewuste Keuze basic health-care plan, and the Zorgzoeker will help you make your choice. You will be informed about the contract status and the applicable reimbursements.
You will also find the addresses and telephone numbers of health-care providers and hospitals. When you click on a hospital or independent health-care centre in the list of search results, you will be taken to the details page. Here you will find more information about the treatments offered and the quality ratings.
You can start a new search by entering a new search criteria at the top of the Zorgzoeker screen.
Please note: sometimes you need our permission before you can visit a specific health-care provider. We refer to this as prior authorisation. You can find more information about this on page Asking for prior authorisation.

Does my healthcare provider have a contract?
In the Zorgzoeker, you can see whether each health-care provider is contracted. This tells you that we've agreed on pricing and quality with these providers. If they're not contracted, it'll say “No contract” in red. Going to a health-care provider we don't have a contract with? Always check how much this affects your reimbursement.

Frequently asked questions about the Zorgzoeker

Does a health-care provider appear more than once in your search results? This is because this health-care provider offers different types of care. We have a contract with a health-care provider for each type of care. It is therefore possible that we have a contract with this health-care provider for one type of care but not (yet) for another.

Are you visiting a health-care provider with whom we do not have a contract? If so, this may affect your reimbursement. Therefore, always check your reimbursement conditions carefully in advance.
