Maximum reimbursement limits for district nursing and mental health care

Having a health-care plan with ONVZ gives you extraordinary freedom. You decide which doctor you consult and which hospital you go to. As of 1 January 2021, ONVZ will set maximum reimbursement limits for district nursing (home care) and mental health care provided by health-care providers that do not have a contract with ONVZ. Read on to find out what this means for you.

We conclude contracts with many home care organisations and mental health-care providers to ensure good quality care at the right price. From 1 January 2021, the level of reimbursement will depend on whether your preferred home care organisation or mental health-care provider has a contract with ONVZ.

Does my health-care provider have a contract?

You can use the Zorgzoeker (Care finder, in Dutch) to check whether your health-care provider has a contract with ONVZ. It is updated regularly.

gecontracteerd-ONVZ

My health-care provider is contracted for 2021

Nothing will change for now. You can continue to use the high-quality care provided by your home care organisation and/or mental health-care provider and be fully reimbursement for the costs as you are used to from us.

niet-gecontracteerd-ONVZ

My health-care provider is not contracted for 2021

In that case, you have to take the maximum reimbursement limits into account as of 1 January 2021. Compare the rates charged by your home care organisation or mental health-care provider with our maximum reimbursement limits. If those rates are higher than our maximum reimbursement limits, your care provider will most likely charge you the difference.

What are the maximum reimbursement limits?

You can find the maximum reimbursement limits below (in Dutch):

• Generalist basic mental health care and Specialist mental health care

District nursing

Would you prefer full reimbursement?

If you prefer full reimbursement, you can use our Zorgzoeker to find a contracted home care organisation or mental health-care provider. You can also contact our ZorgConsulent advisers. They will be happy to help you find a home care organisation or mental health-care provider you can turn to. The ZorgConsulent advisers can be reached via telephone number 0800 022 14 50 (choose option 2).

Prior permission for district nursing

If you use care provided by a home care organisation, you need our prior permission if you prefer to be treated by a non-contracted health-care provider. The maximum reimbursement limits also apply to treatments we gave prior permission for and that will continue in 2021. Read more (in Dutch).

At the moment I do not use district nursing or mental health care

The maximum reimbursement limits do not apply to you. You are still free to choose your own doctor and hospital as you are used to from us. Remember this change for any future district nursing or mental health care you may use in the future. For now, you do not have to do anything.
