2024

Changes in our supplementary plans in 2024

This overview below shows all changes in our supplementary plans as of January 1, 2024. We have only listed the changes that change the terms and conditions of your insurance.

What will change for you?

  • Do you have supplementarry health-care plan Benfit or higher? And do you use weight-loss medication, vitamins or minerals? As of January 1, 2024, your supplementary insurance will no longer reimburse these medications.  Also we doesn't cover medicines from clusters in which we designate medicines for the basic health-care plan.

  • Maximum reimbursement limits for non-contracted physiotherapy

If you need physiotherapy and your physiotherapist does not have a contract with us, our supplementary health-care plans will reimburse a maximum amount per treatment from 1 January 2024. You will have to pay any costs in excess of that amount yourself.

In our Zorgzoeker [care finder], you can check whether your physiotherapist has a contract with us. If not, please check our page Maximum reimbursement limits to check the level of reimbursement. Of course, you can also look for a contracted physiotherapist.

These maximum reimbursements do not apply to physiotherapy covered under the basic health-care plan, nor Cesar and Mensendieck remedial therapy covered under the basic health-care plan or any supplementary health-care plan.

    Specialised remedial therapy

Do you need care from a Cesar or Mensendieck remedial therapist? They are sometimes specialised in another area, like child remedial therapy or pelvic remedial therapy. We also reimburse the health care provided by these specialised therapists. For 2024, this will be included in our reimbursements.

From 1 January 2024 the remedial therapist must always have a registration in the quality register ‘Kwaliteitsregister Paramedici’.

Quality registration physiotherapy and remedial therapy

Do you need care from a physiotherapist or Cesar or Mensendieck remedial therapist? From 1 January 2024, they must be registered in an appropriate quality register. A physiotherapist must be registered in the quality register of the KNGF or Stichting Keurmerk Fysiotherapie. A remedial therapist must be registered in the Kwaliteitsregister Paramedici. You can check with your physiotherapist or remedial therapist whether they are appropriately registered.

  • Do you have a condition that increases the risk of wounds or ulcers on your feet, but is the risk not yet so high that the basic health-care plan reimburses your foot care? Optifit and more comprehensive supplementary plans sometimes reimburse foot care in that situation. In 2023, this only applied if you have diabetes or rheumatism. In 2024, the aforementioned plans will also cover foot care if you have other conditions with a similar risk. However, your health-care provider must meet certain requirements.

  • Do you have supplementary health-care plans Topfit, Superfit or Zorgplan? And do you need to go to a Zorghotel? From 1 January 2024, these supplementary plans will reimburse a maximum of €200 per day for a Zorghotel. Topfit covers a maximum of €2,000 per calendar year and Superfit and Zorgplan a maximum of €2,500 per calendar year.

  • From 1 January 2024, health-care providers must also have a valid AGB code if they provide health care covered by the supplementary health-care plans. This AGB code should be included on the invoice. This applies to Foot care, Alternative medicine and movement-related care, Acne treatment, Cosmetic camouflage instruction, Electric epilation and laser treatment.

  • Do you have our most comprehensive supplementary health-care plan Superfit? From 1 January 2024, this plan will only be available to insured persons living in the Netherlands. If you move abroad, we will terminate your Superfit.
